Cardio Doesn’t Burn Fat!
When I go to the gym, I see too many people using cardio machines.
People are running on the treadmill for hours, enrolled in run clubs, doing boot camps, or Spin classes.
Nobody is getting results, but everyone is blowing smoke in each other’s butt, saying you did wonderfully!
Does that feel or sound familiar?
Are you working out for fun or to get results?
If you said, “get results or both,” then stop wasting your time.
Nutrition is going to play the most significant role in losing weight. You need to be in a caloric deficit, which means you need to burn more calories than you’re consuming.
Many people fall into the trap by working out hard or running 100+ miles per week. You can eat whatever you want because you burned X amount of calories.
Well, I have a secret to tell you.
I don’t care what your Fitbit or Apple Watch said that you’re burning.
If you look at yourself and still got a gut, and the weight is not moving down on the scale.
That means you’re not in a deficit, and you are wasting time and energy.
The same thing happened to my student Edward Santiago from San Juan, Puerto Rico.
He’s a marathon runner and believed in the excitement of being on a high-carb vegan diet.
He wants to lose the gut, be ripped, and improve his run time by losing the extra baggage.
I made changes to his diet and calories to match up with his performance to achieve his fitness goals.
Within the first four weeks working with me, Edward lost 10 lbs (5kg)
Nothing changes from the running protocols he’s doing to improve his run. He just changes to his diet and he’s getting fast results.
It’s more proof to show you that food plays 80% when it comes to your performance and fitness goals.
